Can I have a visitors counter on my SimDif website?

You cannot put visitor counters on your SimDif site. Here’s why:

Counters showing how many visitors have been to a page are misleading. They don’t help you understand the behavior of your users. Neither do they help you decide what to present to your visitors.

For example, does a counter give any indication of how long it has been running? Does it say anything about whether visitors liked the page, or whether they arrived by mistake and immediately left?

SimDif offers you much better statistics in ‘Settings’ > ‘Number of Visitors’. You can see how many people have been to your site, how many pages they visited, and over what period.

Google Analytics allows you to collect precise information on how many visits your website has had, where they came from, how many pages people have seen, which pages, and where your visitors are in the world.
